I can’t tell if this guy is seriously proposing this as a public policy solution, or presenting a horrific plan in an effort to show that a complete gun ban would be undesirable. Either way, I’ll be watching from Costa Rica.
The disarmament process would begin after the initial three-month amnesty. Special squads of police would be formed and trained to carry out the work. Then, on a random basis to permit no advance warning, city blocks and stretches of suburban and rural areas would be cordoned off and searches carried out in every business, dwelling, and empty building. All firearms would be seized. The owners of weapons found in the searches would be prosecuted: $1,000 and one year in prison for each firearm. (toledoblade.com — The disarming of America)

The crocodile was shot Saturday in a park in Beihai, a city in the Guangxi region, by investigators looking for the missing child. Investigators confirmed that human remains found in the reptile were that of the student, the report said.
The child, surnamed Liu, disappeared Friday after Liu and three other children climbed over the fence around a pool in the park that had been used to stage crocodile shows, Xinhua said.
“The children shot the animals with catapults and beat them with wooden sticks,” the agency said. “One of the irritated crocodiles bit Liu’s clothes and dragged him into water, where he was eaten by a swarm of crocodiles.” (FOXNews.com - Chinese Boy’s Remains Found in Crocodile’s Stomach - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News)

Glad I’m not paying $50,000/yr to be a helpless and hapless victim.

So the 2007 Session is over. As always there was good and bad. I don’t have the full breakdown of what passes and didn’t, and as always there is the possibility that the Governor will throw a tantrum and veto stuff. There are however winners and losers and here they are:
Winners:
* Cagle & Richardson both for standing up for the Taxpayers. They each did it their own way.
* Children in the State of Georgia, who will now have more options in their education.
* Sen. Shafer for getting SB148 Passed
* Rep. Steve Davis for standing up to the appropriations machine.
* Couch Potatoes who will get more choice in where they get their MSM drivel from.
Losers:
I can’t decide which is the bigger loser this session. The Governor or the NRA.
* The Governor for being the first Republican Governor to veto a tax break.
* The NRA for coming down to Georgia and pushing everyone around. Frigtards.
* The residents of Dunwoody
* All the Bass Fish in this state.
* The taxpayers who will have to pony up 20.2 BILLION dollars.

With the news that the Governor might veto one or both budgets over the lack of spending on this pet projects, I felt compelled to dig out the way-back machine and bring you this link.
