Tom Colburn (R-OK) is on the war path against pork in the Iraq/Katrina
Supplemental Appropriations bill. He has targeted 19 projects (about 1.7 Billion
Dollars) to be removed. Using a parliamentary trick known as “dividing the
question” each of the 19 projects is voted on separately. Yesterday they were
deciding a $500 Million welfare payment to Northrop Grumman.
Take a look at this chart.
One year ago NOC was trading at $55/share. Yesterday it closed at $67/share with
a $23 Billion Market Cap.
The two “Republican” Senators from Georgia voted
to give $500 Million of your money to Northrop Grumman.
If this is what the Republican party is all about, then I don’t see any reason
why they are better than the Democrats.
