Peach Pundit is taking a look at how Gwinnett County Chairman Charles Bannister did his first year on the job. The following quote jumped out at me:
To that end, Chairman Bannister is anticipating that the county will start getting into the business of boosting economic development itself. In recent years, it has relied upon the Chamber of Commerce for that activity, but now Bannister is talking about the need for an economic development officer “to compete.”
Gee, that sounds an awful lot like what New London and Stockbridge are up to.
Maybe its time I put the Institute for Justice into my speed dial.

Charles Bannister stinks! He and his buddies have allowed Gwinnett County to be overpopulated as they have in the past. Charles Bannister was voted into office because the people of Gwinnett were sick and tired of Wayne Hill cutting down every tree in sight and allowing Builders/Developers to build low quality homes on tracts of Land so small you couldn’t walk beteween them without turning sideways.
Chareles Bannister rode around Gwinnett on a Segway telling residents that he was going to put a stop to this over development and take the rubber stamp away from the builders and developers. Well I’m here to tell you that Mr. Bannister has done nothing but pass every rezoning application that has crossed his desk, dispite overwhelming opposition. Mr. Bannister is a LIER, He will say anyting to get a vote, and once he has that vote he’ll turn around and stab the voters in the back with his vote for Bannister signs that litter Gwinnett.
He’s turning Lilburn, specifically the Parkview School District into a slum by allowing R-100 property to be rezoned to R-100 modified. I don’t know how in the hell they can allow a hundred and fifty homes, Tennis courts, on sixty acres of land and 10% of that sixty acres is unbuildable. Once a nice place to live, Gwinnett is now no better than Dekalb. Mr. Bannister; Shame on you! I don’t know how he can sleep at night.
